Day 3 - Sunday 4th September
Everyone really up for golf ...
Sunday began with a full quota again, 2 days on the bounce after serious drinking and no drop outs - credit to the boys. Cabs to the golf course, well for most of us to the golf course some decided on a scenic tour of the area but turned up later. I was luckily enough to go out with the two leaders, Alan and Rich and despite me being level par for the first 3 holes I was still dropping points to Rich - never did quite work that out. The highlight came on the par 3 where Rich playing off 36, yes I did say 36 although all real golfer know that's a handicap reserved literally for the handicapped or women felt the need to sink a birdie 2. So with 2 shots free he scored a net 0 - game over for the rest of us.
Well back to the club house for some final beers, well nearly there's still the airport to go, and the presentation. Rich taking the honors despite cry's of foulplay and the resignation of the handicap secretary being called for. But credit to him every dog has his day, just ask Lulu from Saturday night. So congratulations to Irish Rich for a creditable score of 77 over the two days a new record high that may never be beaten. I think all the BoBs guys truly appreciated the additional company and will be voting soon to allow some honoury members for the inclusion in 2006, well seeing as Alistair said he'd sort it all out we'd better let him play!!
Homeward bound
Back to the hotel and a couple more beers while the world was put to rights and the highs and lows of the weekend were discussed, the train spotters had departed and the jet setters were soon to go. The airport brought about a final beer and a near diplomatic incident as Alan spent the best part of half an hour in the loos destroying the place, the bomb squad were called due to an unknown chemical in the air, only for Al to walkout looking rather proud of himself.
So that really captures it all and remains for me to thank everyone for contributing to a fantastic weekend, I had a cracking time from
start to finish and that was made possible by each and everyone of you. Cheers for the effort and commitment and here's to BoBs 2006 or
failing that some other idiot getting married!!
